Alexandria Gilligan Wins 2024 UCLA Undergraduate Research Prize
Congratulations to History Undergraduate Student Alexandria Gilligan who has won a 2024 UCLA Undergraduate Research prize for her paper, “Little Bronze Tokyo”: Housing and Employment for Black & Japanese Americans in Los Angeles during World War II, (1940-1950).” She earned first place in the prize category: “Best project using resources from the UCLA Special Collections”. Her award comes with $700 monetary prize. Alexandria wrote and researched her paper in Professor Minayo Nasiali’s Fall 191C seminar, “A Right to the City.”
