History Academic Counseling

The History Counseling team provides remote academic counseling for History students and prospective students during Summer Sessions. Please see our schedule below for our updated counseling hours.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Drop-in hours for Spring 2026 have concluded. Summer drop-ins will begin on Tuesday, June 23rd.

For an individual appointment, please email undergrad@history.ucla.edu. Include UID number and reason for appointment. 

Submitting Documents

Our department is only accepting electronic copies of all student documentation, not paper copies. To submit any departmental documents – course substitution petitions, Honors thesis, completed College petitions requiring departmental signatures, etc – attach the completed documents to an email that includes your full name and UID, and email to undergrad@history.ucla.edu.

General Deadlines

All History contracts for Contract Courses are due Friday of week 1 of the given course term. Contracts must be completed in full, accurately, and emailed to undergrad@history.ucla.edu.

Major/minor declarations are processed during weeks 3-10 of each quarter.
