Joshua Herr (PhD 2017)

Josh Herr is now based in the Hong Kong office of Perrett Laver, a global executive search firm specializing in appointments in higher education, non-profit, and arts and culture.  On the job since last September as a Research Associate, Josh uses his grad school training to understand what universities are seeking in candidates for senior roles (e.g., deans, provosts) and to identity qualified people who meet the client’s criteria.  His PhD is a “useful calling card for talking to academics about their careers” since they know he knows the lingua franca of the academy, while his research abilities and data collection and analysis skills allow him to match up efficiently institutions and prospective employees.
