Financial Information

The Department offers all incoming doctoral students a six-year funding package which provides fee and tuition coverage and a combination of award support and teaching assistantship employment. This package includes one year of non-resident tuition coverage for incoming out-of-state students, and three years of non-resident tuition coverage to incoming international students. After international students successfully advance to doctoral candidacy, non-resident tuition is waived for the subsequent three years. To maintain their support packages, students must show satisfactory progress in the graduate program.

Our students are highly successfully in securing UCLA and external awards, and we strongly encourage students to apply throughout their graduate studies. More information about graduate awards can be found on the Graduate Division website: http://www.gdnet.ucla.edu/asis/stusup/index.html.

Living expenses and other costs associated with attending UCLA as a graduate student are calculated by the Financial Aid Office and can be found here, https://grad.ucla.edu/admissions/graduate-student-fees-tuition-living-expenses/
