Rebecca Waxman Receives the Penny Dissertation Research Fellowship from the UCLA Center for the Study of Women

Rebecca Waxman, 3rd year doctoral student in the South Asia field, has received the Penny Kanner Dissertation Research Fellowship from the UCLA Center for the Study of Women. The Penny Kanner Research Fellowship funds exceptional dissertation research projects that pertain to women or gender that use historical materials and methods. Waxman’s dissertation will analyze instances of sexual violence in late colonial and postcolonial India that marked turning points for social, legal, political, and feminist histories. You can view the announcement here.
