Professor Emeritus Ned Alpers Gives Keynote Address at the 11th Conference of African Studies

Professor Emeritus Ned Alpers gave the Keynote Address at the 11th Iberian Conference of African Studies in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 7, 2022. The conference title was “Tránsitos africanos no mundo global: História e memória, heranças e inovações, or “African Transits in a Global World: History and Memory, Heritages and Innovations” and Ned’s talk was titled “‘Africa is Long Ago’: Some African Transits in the Indian Ocean World.”
