Elizabeth O’Brien’s Book Wins Several Awards

Congratulations to Elizabeth O’Brien, whose book Surgery and Salvation: The Roots of Reproductive Injustice in Mexico, 1770-1940 (University of North Carolina Press, Nov. 2023) has won several awards in the past few months: the Judy Ewell Award, Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies; the Best Book Award, Nineteenth-Century Section, Latin American Studies Association; Honorable Mention, Frances Richardson Keller-Sierra Prize for best monograph in the field of history, Western Association of Women Historians and Honorable Mention, Thomas McGann Book Prize, Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies.
