Join Edward A. Alpers, Research Professor (Emeritus) of History at UCLA, as he serves as a panelist in a live webcast discussion on Darshana M. Baruah’s new book, The Contest for the Indian Ocean and the Making of a New World Order.
The event explores the geopolitical significance of the Indian Ocean, which has reemerged as a vital center for global power struggles, trade, and strategic partnerships. Hosted by the Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy Program in collaboration with the Indo-Pacific Program, the discussion will also feature insights from Berenice Guyot-Rechard (King’s College London) and Baruah herself.
