In Memoriam: Tom Lifka (1945-2025)

We are sad to announce that Tom Lifka, retired UCLA Associate Vice Chancellor for Students Affairs and adjunct professor, philanthropist and friend to the UCLA Department of History, passed away January 28, 2025. His generosity to the department included endowing the Thomas E. Lifka Chair in History (currently held by inaugural chair holder Kelly Lytle-Hernandez); establishing the endowed Thomas E. Lifka Dissertation Prize; and leaving a generous bequest to fund a graduate student fellowship.
