Stella Ghervas Named Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy

Stella Ghervas has been awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy — Iași Branch, through its A.D. Xenopol Institute of History, in recognition of her contribution to scholarship on South-Eastern Europe and Romanian and Moldavian historiography. The award ceremony will take place in Iași on June 5, 2025, where Professor Ghervas will give a lecture entitled “Calming the Waters: Peace and Conflicts in the Black Sea.”

Professor Ghervas holds the Eugen Weber Chair in Modern European History at UCLA and serves on the faculty advisory committees of the UCLA Luskin Center for History and Policy and the UCLA Center for European and Russian Studies.
