Alumnus James B. Wolf Passes Away
We are saddened to announced that James B. “Jim” Wolf passed away on August 23, 2025 at the age of 92. Jim earned his BA from Oberlin College and his MA from San Francisco State College before graduating from UCLA with a PhD in History in 1968. After graduation, he became one of the founding professors of the University of Colorado, Denver, serving as a professor of history there until his retirement in December 1999. His research explored aspects of imperialism in Africa as well as emigration from Ireland. He was active in local theater and community organizations, as well as chair of the CU Faculty Council and President of the CU Retired Faculty and the Frasier Community Resident Council. Over the course of his career, he was awarded the CU President’s University Service Award as well as the University Medal from the Board of Regents.
