Commencement 2025
We are happy to share that the
Department of History Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2025
is scheduled to be held in person on
Sunday, June 15th at 9:00am in Dickson Court North.

Student Assembly Information (day-of)
Students will check in and line up beginning at 8:00 AM in Dickson Court Plaza South. Student must have their digital ticket with them to participate. If students do not have access to a smartphone, they may request and print out a PDF file. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 AM and will include: opening remarks by the Chair, recognition of honors thesis, awards, naming of candidates for the Bachelor’s degree, and closing remarks by the Chair.
Ticketing Information
All tickets for this event will be digital, and each graduating student will need their own ticket to participate in the ceremony. Students may request tickets – their own ticket and guest tickets – during two designated timeframes, each described here:
- Between Friday, May 9th at noon through Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at 11:59pm PT, students will be able to order a total of five free departmental commencement ceremony tickets through MyUCLA: (1) free ticket for themselves and (4) free tickets for guests. If space is available to distribute additional guest tickets, additional tickets will cost $20 each.
Beginning on Monday, June 1st, these ticket orders will be delivered via email. Students should be sure to check their email spam folder, since tickets are often delivered there. To prepare for ticket distribution you may add cto@tickets.ucla.edu as part of your safe sender list. Students will receive two emails per ceremony: one containing their graduate ticket and the other with the guest tickets. Please be sure to be ready to present the correct ceremony’s ticket upon check-in. On the day of, guests also must have access to their tickets as well. If they do not have access to a smartphone, you may request and print out a PDF file.
- After the Friday, May 23rd deadline and up to Wednesday, June 11th at 5pm, students can order additional tickets by sending an email to the History department Counselors at undergrad@history.ucla.edu. Tickets are available until seating capacity is met; after that point only wait list tickets may be ordered.
The email must include Commencement Ticket Order in the subject line, and the following information:
- Your name and UID
- Number of guests tickets requested
- Confirmation if you are ordering a ticket for yourself or not. (Yes/No)?
(sample email) This is Jesse Bruin, UID 123456789, and I would like to order 3 guest tickets please. I am not ordering one for myself because I already have one.
Charges for each $20 ticket are assessed when the order is placed in MyUCLA and processed through students’ BruinBill. Once a Wait List request has been approved and processed, it becomes a billable order. Once ordered, students are charged for guest tickets whether or not they are picked up or used. NO refunds are issued.
Charges related to Commencement events will be posted to the students’ BruinBill. And charges for any late orders will also be posted to students’ BruinBill.
