I am a third-year PhD student in the field of South Asian studies. My broader interests encompass 19th and 20th century South Asia and the Middle East. I am particularly interested in the cultural and intellectual history of Afghan nationalism in the early twentieth century. I will examine Afghan nationalism's relationship with Islam and the politics of nationalist historiography and knowledge production during this period.
