Jeremiah J Sladeck is a Continuing Lecturer in the History Department at UCLA. He is a California Historian specializing in the California Mission System and the colonial American West. Dr. Sladeck regularly teaches History of California, American Indian History to 1830, and courses on the American West or the nineteenth century. He is currently at work on his first book, Padres Descontentos: Spanish Imperial Policy, Franciscan Decline, and the California Mission System.
