Biography

Carson is a History PhD student at UCLA, where he studies the Roman empire in Late Antiquity. He particularly focuses on the development of Neoplatonism in the 4th century CE, as well as the Mediterranean’s shifting religious landscape during that same period. Before coming to UCLA, Carson completed an honors thesis at Emory University, titled: “Emperor and Magician: The Religious Views and Magical Practices of Julian the Apostate.”
