Biography

On March 23, 2025, Professor Emeritus John Laslett passed away at the age of 91. He held a BA and a PhD from Oxford University in England, and he taught at the Univ. of Chicago before coming to UCLA, where he taught for several decades in the History Department. He wrote innovative articles and books on the history of labor and immigration and on the history of Los Angeles.
