Professor Emerita Ellen Dubois’s new book Elizabeth Cady Stanton – A Revolutionary Life will be available in March through Hachette Basic Books.

This biography of Elizabeth Cady Stanton offers a fresh and nuanced portrait of the pioneering American suffragist and women’s rights leader. Stanton, whose activism spanned from the 1840s until her death in 1902, played a central role in shaping modern feminism. Influenced by Enlightenment ideals and the antislavery movement, she advocated not only for women’s suffrage but also for reproductive rights, marriage reform, and challenges to Christianity’s subordination of women.
