Guillermo Ruiz Stovel was awarded the Norris Hundley Dissertation Prize for the best dissertation in the history of the U.S. West, Latin America, and the Pacific World in the Department of History for his dissertation, “The Eastern Ocean: the Minnan-Manila Trade in China’s Long Eighteenth Century.”

Alumna, Grace Ballor, earned an honorable mention at the 2020 American Historical Association Conference for the Thomas E.
